County Wills & Probate were one of the very first independent Will Writing companies starting in Reading way back in 1989 and the basic formula of a fixed fee and a home visit was successful from the very beginning. Shortly thereafter, we established a second office in Manchester meaning that we could now offer a service anywhere in England and Wales.
It was always important to rely on personal recommendation and this has worked so well; that all new business now comes from either the friends and relatives of existing clients or from introductions from people in the Financial Services industry. We keep our overheads low and hence our fees low by spending absolutely nothing on advertising!
We have always been totally independent and focused on the core business of writing Wills and Lasting Power of Attorneys.
In 2009 the latest to join us are Solent Wills based near Southampton and Exchequer Wills based in Warrington.
In 2008, we took over Jamieson Reed (Wills & Trusts) based in the North of England but with clients spread around the country.
North East Wills (Middlesbrough) followed in 2005 with Legacy Wise (Manchester) and The Sinclair Partnership in 2007.
In 2000, it was Capital Wills (Croydon) and in 2001, Crown Wills (also Berkshire) both of which have retained their trading identities.
In 1999, Home Will Services (North of England) and WillWriting Systems - South East (based in Berkshire) joined our group.
In 1998, we took over The Will Company (based in Kent) and Willsecure (Somerset)
We have a team of Consultants spread around the country who undertake all the home visits and we have over 40,000 clients who all receive an on-going update and information service.

Everyone needs a Will but most people simply never get around to it.
How do you make a Will?
To guide you carefully through the whole process; we call at a time and place of your choosing. We then translate your wishes into a legally binding document written in plain English as far as possible.
What does it cost?
The all-inclusive, fixed fee for a standard Will is only £139 for one person and £169 for two people.
